I just wondered, in this day and age if we'd got a club facebook page?
It seems like an easy, and cheap, way to advertise the club.....

Hi Antony, don't think we do. We have the website and the forum but, not facebook or twitting Feel free to set one up if you like.

I have occasionally wondered about starting an FB page for the club but always shyed away from it as I didn't want to force FaceBook upon people who don't want to sign up for it (with all that that implies). Back before I signed up for FaceBook (only done originally because a group of friends who worked together were being made redundant and it was chosen to use FB to keep in touch) I used to hate reading on forums "just look on the FaceBook page" which always seemed remarkably "well we use it so why don't you?".
On the other hand, I think this forum has had it's day so maybe it's a good time to move over to FaceBook as we aren;t really disenfranchising anybody who uses this forum as really nobody does anymore! The page for the gaming group at Titan Games Stourbridge is immensely useful and something similar for Stourbridge & District could hopefully as useful.
If nobody has any objections, I will start one up.

Oh well, that's going to be me out of touch then. Personally I don't use "FB" as I just don't find it interesting in knowing that someone has just arrived for work, what they've had for dinner or gone down the pub, because that is all it seems to be on the "FB" pages I have seen. I find staring at a blank wall more interesting, but maybe that is just me. I, for one will be sad to see this forum go, I'll stay as a "Luddite".

Owen I see no reason for the forum to end any more than the website to die a death. I do hope to get an article about trip to Wargame Holiday Centre on there when Mr Morris lets me know what was happening at the right hand side of the table (too far away to keep in site without binoculars).
Ash, don't forget this forum never seemed to work for people with a name beginning with 'K', so I guess there will always be exceptions and the more media we have out there in the modern world the better.
I had even toyed with the idea of bunging some videos on You Tube of the more interesting games or maybe even a basic what is wargaming variety.

To be fair to Facebook, I believe it's Twitter where people state they're going to the toilet or shops!
As far as I can tell Facebook is for telling people your "Status". I don't know what it means, but I'm told it's very important!
I have noticed more links on forums do take you to such social network sites & if you're not a member you can't look at it. I am not a member of such a social network site either, but the more spreading of the word the better really?

I'm not suggesting deleting this board or anything, FaceBook can go alongside it. It would probably draw more attention to the club than this board at least.
